Hermione Emma Watson finally shows her tears

Popularity gives ‘Hermione’ stress.

Earned her fame playing Hermione in the movie Harry Potter, top actress Emma Watson, 20, has shared her distress of being well-known.

In a recent interview with Vogue megazine, she revealed there was time her campus life was a little tough.

Currently a student at Brown University, she had wanted to enjoy her life as a normal student without getting too much attention from others.

However, she freaked out when a number of classmates asked for her autograph.

"In the end I had a breakdown. Not a hissy fit, more like uncontrollable crying,” she said. “Everyone looked at me horrified, like, 'Oh my God! What's wrong with her?’”

In the end, she decided to ask them a small favour.

“I just said 'I'm really sorry, but I'm here to study and I just want to be a student. Would it be okay if I don't sign, because you'll be seeing me around all the time anyway?'" she said.

After the incident, there was quite an improvement in her school life.

Now although she walks down the corridor from the bathroom in just a towel after taking a shower, no one jumps in to take a picture of her. "No one did. Not even when I had my birthday party - 100 people came and not one put a picture on Facebook," said she.

To her confession, netizens responded it’s time for fans to be more mature in dealing with their stars.

“내가 참지 못하고 눈물을 보이자 나를 둘러싸고 있던 학생들이 충격을 받았다”면서 “엠마 왓슨이 정신적으로 문제가 있다고 생각하는 눈빛이었다”고 덧붙였다.

하지만 그녀는 “정말 미안해. 하지만 나도 평범한 학생이 되고싶어. 사인을 그만하면 안될까? 부탁이야”라고 솔직하게 말했고 결국 대부분의 학생들은 그녀의 진심을 받아들였다. 그 후 그녀의 캠퍼스 생활은 많이 달라졌다.

왓슨이 샤워를 하고 머리에 수건을 걸친채 복도를 걸어다녀도 이젠 아무도 그녀의 민낯 사진을 찍으려 덤벼들지 않는다고 안심했다. 또 “생일파티에 100여명을 초대했지만 단 한명도 내 사진을 페이스북에 올리지 않았다. 내 사생활을 존중해주는 친구들에게 고마움을 느낀다”고 감사의 뜻을 전하기도 했다.

네티즌들은 왓슨의 안타까운 고백에 대해 “아이돌에게도 평범한 사생활을 허락하는 성숙한 팬덤문화가 절실하다”는 반응을 보였다.
