W400 Mil. Lady alleged to have divorced dermatologist

Kim Kyung-a, who has been caught up in controversy having been labeled the “400 Million Won Lady,” is reported to have divorced her husband, a dermatologist, four months after marriage.

The Chosun Ilbo, an influential local daily in Seoul, reported the news in its Wednesday issue, citing a government source.

According to the reports, Kim has been renting a 56-square-meter row house across from her mother’s similar home with a floor space of 132 square meters in southern Seoul and Kim’s family earned less than 800,000 won in total in the past 10 years.

“There is a personal record of divorce. She separated from her husband four months after she registered her marriage with a dermatologist last year,” the daily quoted a government official as saying. This is quite opposite to her mother’s remark that she has never married.

The daily reported that Kim did not pay rent for the deluxe Bentley sedan that she claimed to have driven.

“I believe Kim’s former husband paid the millions of won in lease and other costs for the car,” the daily quoted a friend of Kim’s former husband.

However, Kim denied all the allegations of government officials on rented house, her marriage and divorce.

“I am wearing clothes and accessories worth 400 million won, including a 200 million won necklace,” Kim said on a talk show, Tent in the City, on cable TV channel Mnet, on Sept. 7. This caused controversy among netizens about the huge amount of money she spent on her clothes and accessories.

As the controversy has flared up, the National Tax Service has launched an investigation into her probable tax evasion. She has claimed that she only read the script given by the program makers, denying the content of the talk show. On the other hand, Mnet insisted that her remark is quite different from what is true.

`4억 명품녀` 논란에 휩싸인 김경아씨가 지난해 결혼했다 4개월만에 이혼한 사실이 알려졌다.

조선일보는 15일 정부 소식통의 말을 인용해 이 같은 사실을 보도했다.

보도에 따르면 김 씨는 정부 조사결과 서울 강남의 40평대 빌라에 사는 어머니 집 건너편 에 위치한 56㎡(17평)의 연립주택에 세들어 살고 있으며 이들 가족은 지난 10년 동안 금융소득이 80만원이 채 안 되는 것으로 알려졌다.

또 김 씨 가족은 김 씨에 대해 "결혼한 사실이 없다"고 말했으나, 정부 관계자는 “지난해 한 피부과 의사와 혼인신고를 했다가 4개월여 만에 이혼한 기록이 있다”고 전했다.

이어 김씨 전 남편을 안다는 한 지인의 말을 인용해 "김씨가 타고 다니던 벤틀리 승용차를 리스하는 데 드는 한달 수백만원의 비용은 김씨 전 남편이 댔던 것으로 안다"고 보도했다.

하지만 김 씨는 이 같은 사실에 대해 전셋집 거주와 결혼 및 혼인신고 사실도 부인했다.

김 씨는 지난 7일 케이블채널 Mnet `텐트인터시티`에 출연해 "2억짜리 목걸이를 포함해 온 몸에 걸치고 있는 것을 다 합하면 4억원 정도 된다. 모든 비용은 부모에게서 받은 용돈으로 썼다"고 말해 구설수에 올랐다.

논란이 커지자 국세청은 김 씨의 증여세 탈루 의혹에 대해 세무 조사에 들어갔고, 이러한 방송 내용에 대해 김 씨는 대본만 읽었다고 부인했다. 하지만 Mnet측은 전혀 사실과 다르다고 반박해 파장이 커지고 있다.
