Acid terror on shopping sisters

According to UPI report, Pakistan's president called an acid-throwing attack on three young girls "barbaric" and demanded provincial authorities find the suspects.

Three sisters, ages 20, 14 and 8, were targeted Thursday in the town of Kalat and had acid thrown in their faces. All three were rushed to a local hospital, where one of the victims was in serious condition, Pakistan's newspaper, The Nation, reported.

No one has claimed responsibility, although a group calling itself Tehrik Rah-e-Nijaat distributed a pamphlet recently warning women to remain indoors and avoid "wandering" in the shopping centers without their blood relatives.

President Asif Ali Zardari ordered the provincial government to provide medical care and rehabilitation for the victims.

This was the second incident of acid-throwing against women in two weeks, following an earlier attack in Dalbandin.

여성들이 야외활동 금지를 주장하는 테릭 라 이 니자트로 불리는 단체가 최근 여성들에게 경고 메시지를 담은 종이를 배포한 것으로 알려졌다.

한편, 아시프 알리 자르다리 파키스탄 대통령은 지방관청에 피해자에게 치료 및 입원 등을 제공할 것을 명령했다.

여성에게 염산 테러를 한 이번 사건은 2주 만에 벌써 두 번 일어났다.
