The nation's first beauty pageant Miss Korea was born out of the ashes of the Korean War in 1957, sponsored by Korean language daily Hankook Ilbo, the sister paper of The Korea Times.

Marking the 65th anniversary of the Miss Korea beauty pageant this year, The Korea Times gathered Miss Korea winners from three different generations, the '70s, '00s, and '10s.

The three beauty icons of their time were excited to be back in the 'spotlight' to share stories about what it was like to be Miss Korea back then, and their life after the spotlight faded.
