Albanian para-cyclist Haki Doku has set a Guinness world record by descending the stairs of Korea's tallest building in a wheelchair.

He wheeled down the 2,917 stairs of the 123-story Lotte World Tower in 49 minutes and 56 seconds on Wednesday, setting the record in the category of “Most stairs descended in a wheelchair.” The previous record that he set in 2018 was descending 2,563 stairs in 59 minutes.

After the race, Doku reportedly said he took the challenge with the aim of overcoming his disability. The athlete said his next goal is descending 100 stairs in 30 seconds.

He has another Guinness record under his belt ― “Greatest distance traveled by manual wheelchair” ― which he set in 2015 by traveling 121 kilometers in 12 hours.
