Chung Hyeon reaches 3rd round of Australian Open

Korean tennis player Chung Hyeon advanced to the third round of the Australian Open in Melbourne, Thursday.
The world No. 58 defeated No. 53 Daniil Medvedev of Russia 7-6 (4), 6-1, 6-1 in the men’s singles.
With the win, the 21-year-old became the first Korean player to reach the Australian Open third round. This is the second time for Chung to advance to the third round at a major tennis championship following his third round finish at the France Open last June.
Chung will play world No. 4 Alexander Zverev of Germany, Saturday. Zverev beat No. 62 Peter Gojowczyk, also of Germany, 6-1, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 the same day.
