KBO player admits masturbating in public

Kim Sang-hyun, a third baseman for KBO baseball team KT Wiz, has been booked without detention for allegedly masturbating in public while looking at a female college student.
According to Iksan police station, Kim was performing the act in his car in Iksan, North Jeolla Province, around 4 p.m. on June 16. Kim had the door on the driver’s side open.
When the college student made eye contact with Kim, he fled, police said. The student memorized the car number plate and reported the incident.
Police said Kim has admitted the crime, saying he instantly felt a sexual urge to do it.
Kim was in the starting lineup for the home game against Nexen Heroes on Tuesday, but was removed in the third inning after the incident became public.
The team and head coach Kim Beom-hyeon denied any previous knowledge of the incident.
The team has taken disciplinary action against Kim, banning him from returning as a player for a minimum of a year without the club’s approval. The punishment is one of the harshest in the KBO because the player cannot sign with other clubs without approval from his original club.
