Korea’s Lee Dae-hoon won a bronze medal on the last day of the 2015 World Taekwondo Grand-Prix Series 2 in Turkey, Sunday (local time), with Korea wrapping up the competition with one gold and one bronze.

At the Yasur Dogu Sport Arena in Samsun, the 2012 London Olympics silver medalist suffered a 5-7 loss to Russia’s Alexey Denisenko in the men’s 68 kilogram semi-finals. Lee led 4-2 until the middle of the third round, but allowed a crafty three-point counter to Denisenko and could not regain the lead.

The Russian faced Saul Gutierrez of Mexico and clinched a hard-fought 12-11 victory. Another bronze went to Iran’s Abolfazl Yaghoubijouybari.

Because Lee has won medals in consecutive Grand-Prix events following his silver at the 2015 World Taekwondo Grams-Prix Series 1 in Moscow, the winner of the 2011 and 2013 World Championships stands a strong chance of competing at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Two days earlier, Jo Chol-ho clinched gold when he beat Iran’s Sajjad Mardani 8-14 in the men’s +80 kilogram division.
