FC Seoul secured its first win of the season as Kim Jin-kyu led the team to a 1-0 victory over Japan’s Kashima Antlers at the 2015 AFC Champions League at the Seoul World Cup Stadium, Wednesday.
Kim’s 66th minute strike gave FC Seoul the three points and moved the team into third place in Group H, trailing Guanzhou Evergrande and the Western Sydney Wanderers. The Kashima Antlers are in last place in the group.
“I think there were some dangerous moments in the game, but our players had a winning mentality and perseverance that resulted in us overcoming those difficult moments,” FC coach Choi Yong-soo said. “I’m very pleased we had the first victory in our home game, and I hope we have more home victories.”
Meanwhile, Beijing Guoan picked up a 1-0 win against Suwon in a Group G match in Beijing.
