The Korea Baseball Oraganization (KBO) announced the nominees for this year’s Golden Gloves on Monday.

The Golden Gloves are handed to those who excelled in their respective positions based on their comprehensive record each season. There are 34 contestants vying for the gloves including four pitchers, three catchers, 10 outfielders and others.

The final winners will be declared at the award ceremony taking place at Seoul Trade Exhibitions and Trading Center (SETEC) on Dec. 11.

A total of 329 media associates who reported on this year’s games will start voting today until Dec. 9 to determine the recipients.

Kia Tigers’ starter Yoon Suk-min, who was named this season’s Most Valuable Player (MVP), is a strong candidate.

The 25-year-old had a groundbreaking record of 2.45 ERA, 17 wins, 178 strikeouts, and a .773 winning percentage in 172 1/3 innings, standing atop all four hurler’s categories, a feat previously achieved only by Sun Dong-yeol in 1991.

Samsung Lion’s Oh Seung-hwan is another contender for his contributions to the Lion’s win in the Korean Series championship against the SK Wyverns and an outstanding personnel record of 47 saves

Slugger Choi Hyung-woo who hit his 30th homerun at the Toongi game of the Asia Series on Sunday, and Lotte Giant’s slugger Lee Dae-ho are strong possibilities, making predictions difficult and leaving everyone in anticipation.
