Hamburger striker Son scores five in 12-0 rout

Hamburger SV striker Son Heung-min scored five goals in a 12-0 rout over Austria’s Zillertal-Auswahl in a preseason friendly, Tuesday.

The South Korean has netted 14 times, including the goals against Zillertal, in five warm-up matches ahead of the 2011-12 season.

The 19-year-old is making the most of the opportunities to show his prowess and stake his claim as a regular starter for the German Bundesliga club.

After the team missed numerous chances, Son gave his side the lead in the 19th minute. He pounced on the ball after Zillertal goalie deflected HSV attacker Eljero Elia’s shot.

The South Korean’s opener sparked his team into action. The advantage was doubled two minutes later through Elia. Defender Aogo then scored a third before the break.

The visitors went further ahead when midfielder Marcell Jansen curled the ball into the net in the 50th before adding another five minutes later to make it 6-0.

Then Son exploded, striking in the 64th, 71st, 73rd and 79th minute.

With HSV having easily secured the victory, midfielder Anis Ben-Hatira then emulated Son by scoring a quick-fire hat-trick before the final whistle. The German team now has a 5-1 record in preseason games.

Son looks in good form having hit four goals in an 8-2 win against a Police Selection side on July 6.

The South Korean made his Bundesliga debut with Hamburger in 2010, and is considered a good prospect for the future.
