Hwang wins equestrian dressage gold

Korean rider Hwang Young-shik won the gold medal in individual dressage in the equestrian event at the ongoing Asian Games here Wednesday.

Competing in his first Asian Games, Hwang scored 74.900 percent to lead 13 riders in the event. Hwang, 20, had been the top qualifier for the final.

Hwang had helped the South Korean team win the team dressage gold medal on Sunday. South Korea has swept all team and individual dressage gold medals at the Asian Games since 1998.
