Lee Chung-young earns season’s first goal to 2-1 win in Premier League

“Blue Dragon” Lee Chung-young scored an opening goal, helping the Bolton Wanderers win a 2-1 win over Stoke City Saturday.

This was his first goal in the Premier League. He has recorded two assists for goals to Bolton Wanderers this season.

Lee shot the ball with his right foot into the net at the 22nd minutes into the first half at the eighth round of the 2010/2011 England Premier League at Reebok Stadium. Bolton allowed the equalizer to Dory Delap of Stoke City in the fourth minute into the second half but Ivan Klasnic got the winning goal to the 2-1 win later.

Lee played 87 minutes in Englnand without rest after playing in the Korea-Japan friendly match in Seoul, Oct. 12.

Meanwhile, MirroFootball.co.uk reported on Oct. 13 that Bolton boss Owen Coyle earlier said he fears South Korean star Lee might burn out.

“Lee beat Wayne Rooney, Carlos Tervez and Steven Gerrard to win the North West player of the year award last week and he has been in outstanding form for Wanderers,” the Internet edition said.

However Coyle is concerned by the amount of football he has played over the last two years and is worried it could take its toll.

"I think he has done very well for his first season and will continue to get better," said Coyle, who collected the award on Lee's behalf.

But we have got to be very careful with him because he has played virtually for two years without a break.

"I gave him three-and-a-half weeks to four weeks off after the World Cup, but it wasn't much when you consider he played for two years solidly.

"It's been a tough ask for him. But all credit to him. He is a young player, who I believe is getting better and better."
