South Korea wins U-17 Womens World Cup
South Korea won the U-17 Women's World Cup for the first time after edging out Japan 5-4 in a penalty shootout in Trinidad and Tobago, Sunday.
In the final held at Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, located in the southern Caribbean Sea, South Korea and Japan drew 3-3 in regular and extraordinary time.
The win marks the country’s first championship title ever in a FIFA-sponsored tournament in both men's and women's football.
