Park decorates front of MU homepage, nudging Wayne Rooney

Park Ji-sung has decorated the main of the homepage of England Premier League Manchester United, expelling Wayne Rooney. An article with the title of “Park’s pride” is posted on the main of MU homepage(www.manutd.com) along with park’s photo since early Sunday.

MU applauded its team player Park who scored the second and last goal in seven minutes to the second half to lead his Korean home team against Greece to 2-0 victory in Port Elizabeth Saturday.

‘United legend’ Bryan Robson has also backed Park to succeed in what could be his only World Cup as captain of his country. "It’s a great honor and a proud moment to lead your country out at a World Cup, and Ji-sung will take that on board," Robson told ManUtd.com.

"When you’re a kid playing on the park pitches, you never dream of being able to do that. I'm sure he'll do a great job in South Africa.

박지성, 루니 제치고 `맨유` 메인화면 장식

박지성이 루니를 제치고 잉글랜드 프리미어리그 맨체스터 유나이티드 (맨유) 홈페이지 메인을 장식했다.

13일 맨유 홈페이지(www.manutd.com) 메인 화면에는 박지성 사진과 함께 '박지성의 자긍심'(Park's Pride)라는 제목의 글이 올라와 있다.

맨유는 "월드컵 B조 1차전 그리스전 경기에서 후반 7분 추가골을 터뜨리며 팀의 2-0 승리를 이끌었다 "며 소속팀 선수 박지성의 활약에 응원을 보냈다.

이어 '맨유의 전설' 브라이언 롭슨도 자국의 주장으로 이번 월드컵에서 크게 성공하게끔 응원을 아끼지 않았다.

맨유는 롭슨의 말을 인용해 "월드컵에 자신의 국가를 밖으로 지도하는 것은 중대한 명예 및 자랑스런 순간이다. 한국 대표팀은 정신력과 조직력이 큰 장점인 팀인데, 여러 환경에 휘둘리지 않을 박지성이 주장으로 적역이다. 남아공에서 대단한 업적을 이룰 것을 자신한다"고 전했다.
