Park Chan-ho of the New York Yankees pitched a shutout eighth inning in a preseason game against the Detroit Tigers on Sunday (KST) at Lakefield, Fla.
The right-hander, who stepped in with a 2-1 lead, got the first batter to ground out but relinquished a double to Don Kelley.
The next batter, Michael Rockett, reached first base but the 36-year-old Korean got Jeff Larish to ground into a double play to end the inning.
The Yankees held on for a 2-1 victory.
Meanwhile, Choo Sin-soo of the Cleveland Indians failed to collect a hit or RBI in a preseason game against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Goodyear Ballpark, Ariz.
The 27-year-old right-fielder batted 0-for-3 against the Tigers right handed pitcher Ian Kennedy. His sacrifice fly, however, helped teammate Asdrubal Cabrera advance to second.
The performance was a disappointment for the Korean player who went 1-for-2 for three RBIs with a double on Saturday (KST).
The Indians won the game 2-0.
