Lee Jung-su Earns 2nd Gold at Winter Olympics

Korea won another gold, two silvers and one bronze at two short track events at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver Sunday in local time.

Lee Jung-su, 21, earned another gold at the new Olympic record of 1:23:747 at men's 1,000 short track, following the gold in the earlier 1,500 short track, while Lee Ho-suk garnered the silver medal.

In the women's 1,500-meter short track, Lee Eun-byel of Korea obtained the silver, following Zhou Yang of China, and her compatriot Park Seung-hi bronze.

As a result, South Korea placed fourth with a medal standing of four golds, four silvers and one bronze, following Germany's 4-6-4. The United States topped the list with six golds, seven silvers and 10 bronzes, followed by Norway with 5-3-3.

이정수 쇼트 트랙 2관왕

한국은 일요일 밴쿠버에서 벌어진 두 남녀 쇼트트랙 경기에서 금 하나, 은 둘 동 하나를 추가했다.

지난 14일 1,500m에서 금메달을 딴 이 정수는 이날 1,000m에서 1분 23.747초로 올림픽 신기록을 세우며 금메달을 따 금메달 2관왕 됐으며 이 호석 선수가 은메달은 땄다.

이에 앞서 열린 여자 1,500m 쇼트트랙에서는 이은별이 중국의 조우 양에 이은 2위로 은메달을 땄으며 박성희 선수가 동메달을 추가했다.

이로써 한국은 일요일 현재 금메달 넷, 은메달 넷, 동메달 하나로 금메달 넷, 은메달 여섯 동메달 메달 넷으로 3위에 이어 4위에 랭크돼 있다. 미국인 금메달 6, 은메달 7, 동메달 10로 1위를 달라고 있으며 뒤이어 노르웨이가 금 5, 은 3 동 3으로 2위를 차지했다.
