Lee Shines Brightest at K-League Awards

Lee Dong-gook was the brightest-shining star at the K-League awards ceremony Tuesday, as the Jeonbuk Motors striker became to the first footballer to win four major trophies.

Lee was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP), the Best 11 player, the FAN-tastic player (as voted by fans) and took home the top scorer award for his 20 goals at the K-League award ceremony in Seoul.

"All of my teammates and team staff did very well. I really appreciate the fans and our manager who motivated me to get where I am," Lee said. "I won a lot of awards this year."

Gangwon FC forward Kim Young-hoo was named the rookie of the year. The 26-year-old notched 13 goals and had eight assists.

"A lot of things are going through my mind," Kim said after winning the award. "I never gave up my dream that I could make it here, that I could play in the K-League. I really thank the press for choosing me as the rookie of the year."

Kim was the top scorer in the National League last year and was picked up by expansion Gangwon prior to the 2009 season.

K-League champion Jeonbuk was selected the top team and their head man, Choi Kang-hee, was named the manager of the year.
