BlueWings Win FA Cup

Veteran goalie Loo Woon-jae's two saves in a penalty shootout against Seongnam Chunma lifted Suwon BlueWings to the FA Cup champion in a 4-2 win Sunday.

In the final of the tournament in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, Suwon, the 2002 winner, allowed Chunma's Serbina striker Radoncic Dzenan to put his side ahead in the 27th minute, but it was offset three minutes from time as forward Tiago Jorge Honorio of Brazil was brought down by midfielder Kim Tae-won in the box and fellow Brazilian attacker Eduardo Goncalves De Oliveira of Brazil converted a penalty to tie it.

After goalless overtime, the 36-year-old goalkeeper, known for his saves against Spain in the quarterfinals of the 2002 World Cup, denied Kim Sung-hwan and Cheon Kwang-jin in a row on his way to the Most Valuable Player (MVP).

The championship has earned Cha Bum-kun's side a place in the 2010 Champions League finals, along with a 200 million won ($171,000) prize.
