Turkish man killed in Dangjin apartment fire

A Turkish man was killed Friday in a fire at a residential building in Dangjin, South Chungcheong Province, regional fire authorities say.
The fire started on the second floor of the building at around 2:31 a.m.
Fire engines were dispatched to the scene following an emergency call from the studio apartment property's owner.
Firefighters extinguished the flames in 34 minutes and found the Turkish tenant, 41, dead in his room.
He is the only person reported to have died in the fire, while the remaining 30 or so residents successfully evacuated the building.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
Police and firefighters said they would conduct an autopsy.
