Minor earthquake detected in East Sea

A minor 2.3-magnitude earthquake took place at 2:04 p.m. off the east coast of the Korean Peninsula.
The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) said the earthquake was centered 59 kilometers east of Donghae City, Gangwon Province, but had no impact on land.
Forty-seven earthquakes of 2.0 magnitude or above have been recorded in and around the peninsula this year.
