Foreigners fix Seoul's problems

Seoul City has launched a monitoring team consisting of 70 people from 33 countries as part of efforts to make the metropolitan city of 10 million friendlier for foreigners.
The Sixth Seoul Quality of Life Monitors was launched at city hall on Monday.
From March 1-Dec. 31, they will report on inconveniences and complaints facing foreign residents and tackle the problems.
Each member will be able to present two reports a month to the city’s Multicultural Division in charge of handling issues related to foreign residents.
Last year, the fifth monitoring team, comprised of 100 foreigners, made 336 reports. They included typos, awkward or grammatically incorrect foreign expressions on signs.
For example, Jongno 3-ga Station had been spelled differently on many Japanese signs until a Japanese member reported the errors late last year. The team also fixed many incorrect English signs.
