All expressways will be toll-free during the three-day Seollal or the Lunar New Year holiday from Feb. 15-17.
This is the second time the current government has exempted tolls for a holiday season, following the same measure taken during last October’s Chuseok holiday.
During the Seollal holiday, those traveling to Seoul from other provinces will get discounts for high-speed rail KTX tickets.
Meanwhile, tolls will be exempted on eight expressways in Gangwon Province, during the PyeongChang Olympics (Feb. 9-25) and the following Paralympics (March 9-18).
Discounts will be offered for KTX travelers from Seoul to destinations in Gangwon.
