Sejong Univ. adds AI and linguistic engineering master's course

Sejong University said Tuesday it is establishing an artificial intelligence (AI) and linguistic engineering master’s course starting in the spring semester next year.

The AI and linguistic engineering major has been created for students wishing to work in the field of text mining and the processing of natural language.

The course will offer studies based on industry demand.

“Although we face an era that needs the integration of the fields of computer engineering and linguistics, most students have only studied one of the two fields. It is our aim to combine these fields of study to produce talented individuals in this area,” Tak Jin-young, an English and English literature professor, said.

The school is currently recruiting students for the program.

Classes may be conducted in English depending on student recruitment, a school official said.
