Provincial News Local governments provide history lessons for multicultural families

Provincial governments are giving multicultural families the opportunity to learn Korean history.

Sacheon Multicultural Family Support Center in Sacheon, South Gyeongsang Province, said it will hold a “Korean History Trip” on June 21 and 28. The center will accept 20 applicants from multicultural families or local foreigners for the events.

The tour will visit historical sites such as Dasolsa Temple, Gugye Seowon and Sacheoneupseong Fortress, and attractions including the Sacheon High-Tech Aerospace Science Museum and Samcheonpo Bridge.

Dongducheon Multicultural Family Support Center in Dongducheon, Gyeonggi Province, plans to hold an “Explore Cultural Heritage with Children” event on June 10. Forty multicultural family members will visit the War Memorial Hall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.

Pyeongtaek Health and Multicultural Family Support Center in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, has launched its “Father’s History Trip.” The center will take five multicultural families and 10 Korean families each month until October on a historical trip.
