Eighty German students are having an opportunity to learn about Korean company management strategies in an intensive five-day course this summer. Sungkyunkwan (SKK) University’s Graduate School of Business will host students from Berlin’s Steinbeis University in two sessions, from July 20 to 31.

Yoo Pil-hwa, associate dean for external affairs at SKK and the program’s designer, said, “Germany is where integrating studies between technology and business management is mostly developed.”

“The object of the program is to induce students to get interests about a specialty and strategy of Korean business management strategies,” he said.

The students will take classes on Buddhism and management, strategic decision-making and will analyze a marketing case study of Samsung Electronics.

In order to learn more about the Korean culture, the students will take lessons on how to cook temple food, watch “Nanta,” a traditional Korean musical, and take tours of Insadong and the Han River.

Other cultural activities in the schedule include attending tea ceremonies, visiting Kyobo Book Center, the nation’s largest bookstore, and singing karaoke with Korean students.

Yoo said that the program will create an invisible synergy in trade between Korea and Germany, strengthened through the students who have experienced Korean cultural and business manners.
