Lee urges DPK lawmakers to push for reform agenda

President Lee Jae Myung on Friday met with lawmakers of the ruling Democratic Party of Korea (DPK) and called for their support in pushing for his reform agenda.
"The role of the National Assembly is really important. I hope you will push forward the reform agendas," he told a lunch meeting with DPK lawmakers at the former presidential compound of Cheong Wa Dae.
Lee said he feels a "grave responsibility" at what he described as an "inflection point in history" and urged DPK lawmakers to share that sense of responsibility.
It was the first time that Lee, who took office in early June, held a meeting with all lawmakers of the DPK.
The DPK controls 166 of the 300 seats in the National Assembly. Together with minor liberal-leaning parties, the bloc holds about 190 seats, compared with the conservative opposition People Power Party's 107.
