President Lee Jae Myung discussed reforms aimed at separating the prosecution's investigative and indictment functions with the new head of the Democratic Party of Korea (DPK), the ruling party said Wednesday.
Lee met with the DPK leadership, including Jung Chung-rae, who was elected as the new party head earlier this month, at the presidential office, according to a statement issued by the ruling party.
During the meeting which ran for more than two hours, Lee and DPK members reaffirmed the government's prosecution reform drive, with major principles set to be announced before the Chuseok holiday in October.
Lee also stressed the need for the government and the party to work as one team to make the people feel changes made under the new administration, the statement added.
