The presidential office said Tuesday it will "calmly" wait for a ruling by the Constitutional Court on President Yoon Suk Yeol's impeachment over his short-lived martial law bid.
"We will calmly wait for the Constitutional Court's decision," a senior presidential official said in a press notice, following the court's announcement it will deliver the ruling Friday.
Meanwhile, Chung Jin-suk, the chief of presidential staff, held a meeting with senior aides to discuss the March trade balance report and the U.S. Trade Representative's (USTR) annual report on foreign trade barriers.
In its 2025 National Trade Estimate Report, the USTR listed Korea's defense procurement offset program, emission-related regulations on imported cars and pricing policies for pharmaceuticals, among others, as trade barriers.
The office said it will look into the trade issues raised in the report with relevant agencies and draw up response measures. (Yonhap)
