Shim appointed as KT managing editor
The Korea Times appointed Shim Jae-yun, 53, as its managing editor, Thursday.
Shim joined the newspaper in 1990 and has served as editor of the business, politics and city desks, and deputy managing editor.
Regarding his role in the new post, Shim said he would put a priority on strengthening the company spirit and creating an environment so that the journalists can produce quality articles deserving of the nation’s oldest and most influential English newspaper.
The paper also tapped Cho Jae-hyon to be in charge of its planning department while naming Kim Ji-soo as deputy managing editor. Lee Hyo-sik and Park Hyong-ki will serve as business and city desk editors, respectively.
