Former President Park Geun-hye left Cheong Wa Dae, Sunday evening, following the Constitutional Court’s unanimous decision to uphold her impeachment two days ago.
Her departure was postponed for nearly an hour as she was expected to leave the presidential residence before 6 p.m.
Park, now a civilian, has aroused criticism from those who do not support for not leaving Cheong Wa Dae as soon as the court announced its ruling.
People and the media watched the presidential office closely throughout the day to see her depart for good; as well as her private house in Samseong-dong, Seoul, where hundreds of people and lawmakers who support Park waited for her arrival amid a large police presence.
