Cash is the most wanted gift for Parent’s Day, a survey has found.

In Korea, children pay tribute to their parents with the gift of a carnation or rose and a card on the day, which falls on May 8.

According to life-care brand Junsungki, cash topped the list of gift items with 56 percent. The company surveyed 500 people in their 50s and over.

Meaningful cards came in second (18 percent), followed by a trip (14 percent), home appliances (8 percent) and movie and performance tickets (4 percent).

Carnations did not get any votes.
