Koreans stay out of the kitchen

Koreans spend the least time cooking, a global survey has found.

According to consumer research organization GfK, Koreans cook an average of 3.7 hours a week, the lowest figure among 22 countries.

GfK surveyed 27,000 people aged 15 and over on the amount of time, expertise and passion they devoted to kitchen duty each week.

India and Ukraine ranked first and second with an average of 13.2 hours and 13.1 hours cooking time a week, followed by South Africa (9.5), Indonesia (8.3) and Italy (7.1)

France, known for its gourmet food, was in the low-ranking group with only 5.5 hours a week.
