Drinking improves your looks, according to a U.K. study. But only one glass.
According to the University of Bristol study, alcohol makes a person more beautiful because it dilates pupils and relaxes facial muscles.
The study was conducted on 40 students who drank different amounts of alcohol while their sober colleagues watched and judged their appearance.
The researchers took photos of their faces when sober, after drinking the equivalent of one glass of wine and after a second drink. The photographs taken after the first drink were rated more attractive than ones without a drink.
“It suggests that, if it’s true, people are rated as more attractive once they've consumed a small amount of alcohol,’’ LiveScience quoted senior researcher Marcus Munafo as saying. “But if they go on to consume more alcohol, they're no longer rated as more attractive.”
