Boy dies from theme park ride

A 12-year-old boy died after falling from a ride at an amusement park in South Chungcheong Province on Saturday morning.
The giant zip line ride stretching across the theme park in Boeun District, was carring the boy 20 meters in the air, when he fell at 10:35 a.m.
He was pronounced dead on his way to a nearby hospital.
"The pulley sustaining the zip-line broke and fell off, and that's how the boy fell," a witness was quoted as saying.
Police confirmed that safety facilities had not been checked before leaving the platform before the ride had started.
A joint investigation with the police and theme park affiliates is being conducted.
