An arcade machine similar to Dance Dance Revolution (DDR), which swept Seoul in late 1990s, has appeared in Pyongyang, a pro-North Korea newspaper reported Friday.
Players choose songs and stamp their feet on arrows on the bottom of the machine, matching their steps to the moving arrows on the screen.
North Korean technicians developed the machine with their own technology, said Choson Sinbo, the official newspaper of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan.
Revealing a photo showing a woman playing the game, the newspaper said many citizens, especially college students, have fun with it.
“We aim to develop electronic game machines to catch up with the global trend,”said the president of the company which developed the machine in the North.
