Sentence cut for rapist who stopped

/ Yonhap
By Ko Dong-hwan
A lower court reduced a rapist’s sentence on Friday because he stopped his assault before the situation became even more serious.
On November 2013, the man, 36, identified only as Kim, lured a female co-worker to his flat to lend her a bottle of shampoo.
He then raped the woman, 21, who sobbed and begged him to stop. He then let her go.
When the victim fled, he ran after her to give her the shampoo bottle.
Kim was originally sentenced to 18 months’ jail, 40 hours of therapy, and to keep information about himself available online.
But the lower court reduced the sentence by two months, because he voluntarily stopped when the woman protested.
The court ruled that this warranted a reduction in punishment.
