Here's why we didn't hire you, conglomerate explains
A feedback system has been implemented for the recruitment process of one of South Korea's largest business conglomerates.
Lotte Group gave out written explanations for why an interviewee was not successful in landing a job, according to a report in the Kukmin Ilbo Saturday.
Having gone through an elimination process with a one percent acceptance rate for selection, Lotte Group delivered report cards via e-mail to every unsuccessful candidate, including a bar graph indicating each score for all the interviews that the applicant had attended.
Scores for Lotte's compatibility, presentation, and executive board's interviews were marked in the e-mail, explaining what was lacking for the candidate compared to the scores of other competitors.
According to the survey conducted by Saramin, a job portal in Korea, approximately 60 percent of all companies do not even notify the candidate after being unsuccessful in a job offer.
Job seekers responded to the feedback with comments such as, "Now I'll be able to know what I did wrong instead of just being left with the feeling that I was turned down."
