Lottery winner tosses cash onto street

It was raining cash in Gwangju this weekend when a lottery winner threw 1000 won and 5000 won bills into a crowd of people.
A photo of people filling a street went viral on Twitter, all reaching out to the sky trying to grab the falling cash at night on Oct. 11.
"A lottery winner announced beforehand that he would toss cash at a location on Chungjang Street in Gwangju," a netizen wrote. "I thought it was fake, but I got this report and I guess somebody really did it."
The streets were already filled with people attending a cultural event called the Chungjang Recollection Festival. People also gathered to catch the money after seeing the original post.
A nearby police station received complaints about the chaos, reported the Kyunghyang Sinmun. But the hubbub eventually dissipated.
Comments on Twitter included, "I should have been there," and "Is this even legal?"
