MBC aired an extraordinary preview on Tuesday morning. When the network took a short commercial break while broadcasting a baseball match between L.A. Dodgers and St. Louis Cardinals, actress Lee Yu-ri from Korea’s hottest evening soap opera “Jangbori” made a surprise appearance.

Lee’s appearance was to promote MBC’s coverage of the Korea-Paraguay football match, the first under new German coach Uli Stielike.

Lee ― who plays an evil character in the drama ― warns viewers not to miss the match. “Listen carefully,” snarls the actress. “It’s the first friendly match with the new head coach. The future of the nation’s football is at stake in this match. Do you still feel reluctant to watch it?”

She ends her appearance with an air kiss, her popular signature gesture in the drama.

“Jangbori” is the network’s top show, rating at more than 30 percent. The last episode will air this Sunday.

The Korea-Paraguay game starts at 8 p.m. at Cheonan Stadium, South Chungcheong Province.
