Korean men rank first worldwide in per capita spending on skin care products, The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported Thursday.
The global market for men's skin care reached $3.3 billion in 2013, with the Asia-Pacific region accounting for $2.1 billion (64 percent).
China ranked first in overall spending, followed by Korea. Per capita, however, Korean men came in first at $25.
WSJ pointed out that male celebrities here often promote men's grooming products by appearing in advertisements.
Experts added that the high spending in Asia might be related to the region’s climate. Asia has cold, dry winters and hot, humid summers.
