Ryu throws with zip during bullpen session

Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Ryu Hyun-jin appeared to be recovering nicely from shoulder soreness during a bullpen session Tuesday.

In footage released by the team's Twitter account, the Korean lefty appeared to be throwing with good pace, getting a loud “pop” sound on three fastballs. Check it out:

According to MLB.com, Ryu threw all his pitches and showed no signs of soreness from the injury that cropped up during an April 27 start.

Manager Don Mattingly hinted that a simulated game might be in store for the pitcher before returning to the rotation.

"There's talk of having him do something to pitch here," said Mattingly, per MLB.com. "Exactly what that will be, we have a good idea, but we'd rather wait till tomorrow."
