A retired Japanese figure skater sent a piece of her sympathetic heart for victims of the Sewol ferry disaster to one of the nation’s reporters, according to MyDaily Wednesday.
A reporter from broadcaster KBS said on Twitter that Miki Ando sent through her manager an envelope containing $1,000 in U.S. currency and a letter. According to Twitter posted Saturday, the reporter interviewed Ando and afterwards received her envelop.
A photo posted on Twitter showed the money and the letter. Part of the letter was seen which read, “May everyone’s soul rest in peace with love.”
Retiring after the 2014 Japan Figure Skating Championships, Ando was the 2007 and 2011 World champion, 2011 Four Continents champion and 2004 Junior champion.
