Murder suspect of Daegu college woman taken into custody
The police in Daegu have taken into custody a 26-year-old Cho in charges of murdering a 22-year-old female college student, Nam.
They obtained a testimony from a taxi driver who picked him up and Cho confessed to the crime.
The taxi driver, a Lee, 31, said he picked Nam up but was stopped by another man who insisted that she was his girlfriend and changed directions.
The incident occurred at 4:20 a.m. on May 25 and the man is believed to have been drinking with Nam at a night club. Cho has been checked to have committed child molestation.
The two were captured on a closed circuit television (CCTV) after getting off the taxi.
The police said there is evidence that Cho raped Nam in an apartment, killed her and ditched her body in Geongju in North Geongsang Province.
