Woman jailed for stabbing husband to death after quarrel

An Incheon court sentenced a woman to three years in prison for assaulting and killing her husband in a quarrel.

The 46-year-old Kim stabbed her husband, a 52-year-old Yoon, at 8:45 p.m. on March 1 after a fight in Seo-gu in Incheon, east of Seoul, and he died instantaneously.

The quarrel broke out over Yoon’s plan to visit his brother in the southern island of Geoje-do and he tried to smash a can of buthane gas. He proceeded to strangle his wife when she fought back and stabbed him.

The court said while the Kim did not have a criminal record and the incident broke out while the husband was drunk, she refused to admit to her actions, thus leading to the sentence in prison.
