Teenager found dead in his room in Daegu

A boy, 17, was found dead in his room Mar. 18. in Nam-gu, Daegu.

The family called the police after they found him lying on the floor with his nose and mouth duct-taped.

The room was locked from the inside, and there were no signs of a breaking-in, according to the police.

They found no suicide note. They added that there were no signs of beating or indication of murder.

The boy was home alone while other family members were visiting relatives for a memorial service.

The family told the police, “He had an introverted personality and had a mild form of depression, but didn’t seem to have major problems.”

The police are to deliver the boy’s body to the family and to investigate on the possibility of suicide by taping himself on the nose and mouth resulting in asphyxiation.
