W20 million for a position as a school vice-commissioner

There have reportedly been backroom dealings with the position of a school viic commissioner carrying a price tag of 20 million won ($18,000).

The police in North Chungchong Province has been investigating the leakage of the contents of exams for professional educators and it has arrested a 47-year-old teacher for securing the questions in advance to get his job.

A 47-year-old incumbent vice-commissioner who leaked the exam paper was also placed under arrest.

The police said the vice-commissioner provided the examinee with the outline of the essay section of the test after receiving 20 million won.

The latter passed the test and was about to undergo training to become a vice-commissioner.

The incumbent vice-commissioner reportedly took care not to be discovered, using disposable mobile phones when making contact and switching the USIM cards on more than 10 occasions.

Since he was apparently not involved in the process of developing the questions for the tests, the police are continuing to investigate the case on the belief that others are involved as well.
