Blackmailer tries to get 100 million won for sex videos

The police Friday arrested a 36-year-old man on suspicions of threatening to blackmail three families over sex videos he made with three female members of the families in for over 100 million won in total.

According to police in North Chungcheon Province, the man identified as Lim deceived the daughters into believing that he was a successful businessman in the United States, but then threatened to send the tapes to their parents if they did not give him money.

Lim has a criminal record of eight counts of fraud and unwarranted intimidation and was on probation during the incidents. The police indicate that Lim will be charged for the same crimes.

충북지방경찰청은 18일 자신과 피해여성의 성관계 영상물을 부모에게 보내겠다고 협박해 금품을 뜯어낸 혐의(상습공갈)로 임모(36)씨를 구속했다고 밝혔다.

경찰에 따르면 임씨는 지난해 4월부터 지난달까지 1년여간 자신이 미국계 금융회사에 다닌다고 속여 만난 피해여성 3명에게 "돈을 주지 않으면 부모에게 영상물을 보내겠다"고 각각 협박해 총 1억1천여만원을 뜯어낸 혐의를 받고 있다.

경찰 조사 결과 임씨는 사기.공갈 등 전과 8범으로, 집행유예 기간에 또다시 이 같은 범행을 저지른 것으로 드러났다.
