Fashion critics have lampooned Pamela Anderson's "embarrassing" catwalk outing at New York Fashion Week after she appeared in a "space-age stripper costume."

The former Baywatch pin-up was modeling for designer Richie Rich's A-Muse Autumn/Winter 2010 Collection, on show at the star-studded event.

Anderson left little to the imagination when she sashayed down the catwalk in her glittering see-through number, which was cut away at the sides and exposed her cleavage.

Blog CelebBuzz posted a piece about Anderson's appearance with the headline: "Pamela Anderson is the wacky, embarrassing aunt of Fashion Week."

"I am going to pour acid into my eyes and hope for the best," blogger Marnie B said.

But other Web sites were less scathing in their criticism, with Britain's The Sun newspaper saying Anderson was living proof age "ain't nothing but a number."
