A woman, 41, has been convicted of stabbing a teenage girl as revenge after a quarrel between the girl and her daughter in Incheon last year.

The Incheon District Court sentenced the woman to six months in prison, suspended for one year, Thursday, for inflicting injuries on the girl, 13, with a weapon at a park on July 24.

She was also ordered to receive treatment for her mental condition.

The woman was indicted after the revenge-motived assault at the park, where she attacked another teenage student, 17, on her way to find the girl.

The injuries were not life-threatening.

“She admitted the charges and expressed regrets,” Judge Hwang Yoon-chul said. “Her unfit mental and physical state at that time and the fact that she had no previous record of serious crimes were factored into the ruling.”
